  • Japanese Maples - 9:00am - with Steve DaSilva, owner of Valley Bonsai and expert on Bonsai care and Japanese Garden design. He is a past president of the Fresno Bonsai Society and past board member of the Shinzen Friendship Garden and brings a keen eye for aesthetic pruning and also a vast knowledge of pruning for a plant's health. We welcome his expertise in pruning Japanese Maples!
  • Roses - 10:30 - with Jon Reelhorn, owner of Belmont Nursery, Avanced California Certified Nursery Pro, with focus on roses. He's had a lot of experience pruning these stickery lovelies, and will cover the various styles and pruning techniques the many types of roses we offer.
  • Fruit Trees * - 1:00pm - with Pam Plemmons, professor emeritus of UC Davis, Department of Agriculture and the UC Cooperative Extension Service. She served as the State Director for the UC Master Gardener Program at UC Davis for 7 years prior to her retirement. In that capacity, she built the program to serve more Californians than ever before and increased the consistency with which the program was run throughout the state. * Will not include Citrus or Avocados, as that will be seminar offered in the future.
